Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Course

It covers screens and other built-in components of the application, data binding, behaviours, and introduces the ActionScript language.

This course introduces learners to the basics of Macromedia Flash MX 2004. The course has two units, Flash MX 2004 Fundamentals and Movie Clips and ActionScript. The Flash MX 2004 Fundamentals covers the toolbar, menu bar, frames, layers, colors, and tweening. The Movie Clips and ActionScript unit introduces the concept of movie clips and covers the basics of ActionScript.

Movie Clips and ActionScript

This part of the course introduces learners to the basics of ActionScript. The course has four units. Understanding ActionScript introduces learners to the new features of ActionScript 2.0 and provides them with a broad-level framework. Working with ActionScript covers the main aspects of ActionScript namely, handling events, using the ActionScript syntax, and working with data. Working with Functions and Statements provides an overview of the types of functions and statements. Finally, Working with Movie Clips covers working with target paths and controlling movie clips.

Working with Functions and Statements

Working with Movie Clips

• Identify the methods to apply target paths to movie clips.

This part of the course covers how to build a rich Internet application with Macromedia Flash MX 2004. The course has three units. The unit Object-Oriented ActionScript 2.0 introduces learners to object-oriented programming (OOP) concepts used in ActionScript 2.0. Connecting to External Data provides information for sending and retrieving data to and from a Flash file. The third unit, Components, enables learners to identify and use built-in components, create their own components, write ActionScript for components, and export and import component packages.
